Ruby on the Couch Eating Potatoes

Ruby on the Couch Eating Potatoes

The talk will give a brief introduction to CouchDB and move on to explain how to get started with developing applications. I will go through the existing frameworks available (including my own called Couch Potato) and show the advantages and problems. I will be coding live showing how people can get started with a simple CouchDB app in a matter of minutes and then move on from there utilizing Ruby Frameworks on the one hand and built-in CouchDB features on the other to get the best results. This will include examples that show how coding with CouchDB differs from working with ActiveRecord, how existing ActiveRecord models can be reused and/or migrated and more.
